My Dells STP Experience

“I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” Galatians 2:21

Grace: God’s free and unmerited favor for sinful humanity.

God has been working in my heart this summer to teach me the ways of Christ. Specifically He has been showing me how God’s grace is the direct response to the unfathomable love He has for His creation.  God’s grace is not something we can earn but is given freely by our Father in Heaven. Romans 3:23-24 says, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.” Jesus Christ died on the cross as the payment for our sins and by His grace we have been saved and now are considered to be Holy and blameless before God. What a mind-blowing example to try and follow as Christ-followers! I think the apostle Paul understood well what it means to have and accept the grace of God. In 1 Corinthians 15:9-10 Paul says, “For I am the least of the apostles and do not even deserve to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them-yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.” Paul had been an enemy of the church, to the point of persecuting Christians. He felt unworthy to be called an apostle even though he was probably one of the most influential of the apostles. He humbly states that he could not have done the work he did without the grace that God poured upon Him. God desires to shower us with His grace! He loves us that much, that He would send His son to die for us as our sacrifice so that we can be united with God again. And it is by that grace that we are saved and have hope. What an incredible feeling that is!

Grace is a hard concept to grasp sometimes but what I’ve realized is as you dive deep into the gospel to try and understand it, God will bless your efforts. This is because He desires us to know His heart and to draw near to Him. He loves us with love unimaginable, and I think that is the greatest blessing we are given as His creation.
