My NAVS Experience
May 10, 2016
Last year I submitted my life to follow Christ, and it has been the best and most important decision I’ve made in my life. Making God my focus and first priority has helped everything else in my life fall into place. College is a constant balancing act of school, relationships, and faith; but ever since I submitted my life to Christ this has been less of a challenge. Joining the CATALYST (Student Leadership) Team this year has really solidified and developed my faith. One of the biggest things I’ve learned is that by living like Christ I reflect God’s light onto people around me. This has challenged me to go outside of my comfort zone and walk deeper in my faith.
I prayed for opportunities to share the gospel this semester; and though I doubted my abilities, God provided some amazing moments. I’ve also seen God work through my D-group Bible study. I’ve prayed that God would soften the hearts of these students and help them take a step in their faith no matter where they were at. God did an amazing work through our prayers and now, we are on the seventh week and have eight men that are dedicated to knowing God more deeply.
Having been discipled myself for almost three years now, I feel God calling me to pour into someone else’s life what has been poured into me. I asked one guy if he wanted to meet one-on-one last month and we have been meeting ever since to read the Word and talk about God in our lives. Through our meetings I see so much drive and desire in his heart to know God more deeply and it encourages me in my walk as well. Please pray that God would continue to grow these guys and use me for His glory on my campus.
